Nintendo Wii - Nintendo Gambled with Wii
Best Wii Games - Nintendo has ventured off the beaten path with its newest system, and the company knows it. While the Sony PlayStation 3 and the Microsoft Xbox 360 both emphasize their impressive graphical capabilities, Nintendo downplays the importance of graphics on its new console, the Nintendo Wii. While the Sony and Microsoft consoles keep the branding of their respective predecessors, the oddly named Nintendo Wii is a semantic departure from Nintendo's more literally named 2001 console, the GameCube. And while the PS3 and the Xbox 360 both use conventional gamepads bristling with buttons, control sticks, and directional pads, the Nintendo Wii uses a device that looks more like a TV remote than a gamepad to control its games.
Best Wii Games - These strange choices could have spelled failure for Nintendo's newest endeavor, the Nintendo Wii. Underplaying processing power, using a strange new controller setup, and giving the whole package an odd name could have been major mistakes for Nintendo. (Consider some of the company's earlier attempts to go against the grain: the Power Glove and the Virtual Boy.) But if our early experience with the Nintendo Wii is any indication, this particular Nintendo gamble seems likely to pay off. It's strange, it's new, and it's not as powerful as its competitors, but the Nintendo Wii succeeds in its primary mission: it's fun to play.

The best tracklist of any Guitar Hero game to
date. Lots of master tracks from the original bands and
artists. Online play is a fantastic addition. Higher
difficulty level ensures experienced players won't get
bored quickly. One of the top rated Wii games.
The good news is that Guitar Hero III is Guitar Hero
through and through. The core gameplay that fans love
hasn't changed outside of some basic tweaks, and the
long and varied tracklist is the best of any game in the
series to date. If there are any chinks in the armor of
this sequel, it's that some of the newer mode additions
and a few odd design decisions do more to get in the way
of the fun than anything else.
Legend of Zelda: Twilight
Princess - Twilight Princess is a
lengthy adventure packed with many well-designed puzzles
and some interesting characters. But once you get over
the rush of excitement from a big, new Zelda game having
finally arrived, it's hard not to feel a tinge of
disappointment--there's a very noticeable lack of
evolution here, which makes aspects of the game seem
more dated than classic. Even so, there isn't much out
there that compares to Twilight Princess, except for the
Zelda games that have come before it. Set to join the
top rated Wii games of all time.
Resident Evil 4 Wii
Edition - At its core, this is
the same Resident Evil 4 that multitudes of players have
grown to appreciate. It's a carefully paced, often
breathtaking action game that keeps you on the edge of
your seat with lumbering almost-zombies, chanting
cultists, and challenging fights against gargantuan
bosses. You view the action from a third-person view,
and when you ready a weapon, the camera zooms in close.
Once you've drawn your weapon, you can't walk, but you
can aim. It all feels very deliberate, but it's
perfectly countered by the measured speed at which your
enemies approach you. However, you shouldn't take this
to mean that the action is any less exciting than in a
traditional shooter. These are dangerous foes, and
you've got to pump them full of lead before they
fall.
Super Paper Mario -
The game's story revolves around Mario's attempt
to stop the dastardly Count Bleck, a new villain to add
to the plumber's rogues' gallery, who has set out to
destroy all worlds. Oddly enough, Bleck's plot of
destruction is fueled by the forced marriage of Princess
Peach and Bowser, which he has arranged and which
creates a "chaos heart" the count then uses to get his
destruction on. In the ensuing chaos, Mario is
transported to the interdimensional town of Flipside and
asked to help stop Bleck. To halt the destruction of all
worlds, Mario must collect eight objects called "pure
hearts" to form the purity heart, which is an ancient
artifact of great power and the only thing that can stop
Bleck's plans. Definitely one of the top rated Wii
games.
Medal of Honor Heroes
2 - There's a bit of a story to Medal of
Honor Heroes 2, and it's told in the form of premission
briefings that feature still photos and narrated
voice-overs. Nevertheless, the plot is mostly
inconsequential. You're an operative in the Special
Forces and it's up to you to stop Hitler from deploying
his new rocket, the V2. Over the course of eight
missions, you'll perform the usual array of activities
found in many a WWII-based FPS: You'll plant charges,
pick up documents, fight in a church, launch mortar
rockets, operate large cannons and stationary machine
guns, and kill seemingly endless waves of Nazi soldiers.
At this point the developer doesn't even try to explain
where these soldiers are coming
from.
